New Jersey Based Srini Pallia Named CEO Of Wipro

EDISON, NJ (IANS) – Wipro, a prominent IT major, has appointed Srini Pallia as its new CEO and Managing Director, with immediate effect. Pallia takes over from Thierry Delaporte.

Rishad Premji, Chairman of Wipro, expressed confidence in Pallia’s capabilities, noting his pivotal role in the company’s significant transformation over the past four years. Premji highlighted Pallia’s client-centric approach, growth mindset, strong execution focus, and dedication to Wipro’s values as qualities that make him an ideal leader for the company’s upcoming phase of growth and profitability.

Pallia, who has been with Wipro for over three decades, will operate from New Jersey and report directly to Premji. His tenure at Wipro includes various leadership positions, notably as the CEO for Americas 1, the company’s largest and fastest-growing strategic market.

Premji emphasized a smooth transition, mentioning that Delaporte will remain until the end of May, collaborating closely with Pallia and himself. Pallia expressed his enthusiasm for leading Wipro towards its next phase of growth, building upon the foundation laid by Delaporte.

Pallia’s extensive tenure at Wipro began in 1992 as a Product Manager, according to his LinkedIn profile. Throughout his career, he has held diverse roles such as Marketing & Brand Manager, General Manager of US Central Operations, and Vice President of Enterprise Business in the US. Pallia has spearheaded transformative initiatives globally, serving as Senior Vice President & Global Head of Business Application Services before ascending to the role of CEO for the Americas region.

Pallia holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and a master’s in management studies from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
