Protestors Unfurl ‘Release Imran Khan’ Message Over Stadium

NEW YORK, NY – A small aircraft with the message ‘Release Imran Khan’ flew over the stadium during the India versus Pakistan match in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, on June 9. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf posted a video of the incident. Khan (71), who served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022, has been in Adiala Jail since August 2023 on multiple charges.
Imran Khan of course is the former cricket captain of Pakistan and has been lionized for being the only one to lead Pakistan to victory and winning the ODI World Cup in 1992.

What a lovely gesture for them to do. Back in the day when Imran Khan and Sunil Gavishkar were the team captains of India and Pakistan, they were loved by both Indian and Pakistani fans. My worst nightmare was watching India and Pakistan play against each other, loving both teams and I did back them. Both men were national treasures loved by cricket fans around the world. So grateful for this beautiful act of love for Imran Khan. The truth will out, as they say and the sun will shine again for him.
