NEW YORK, NY- Republican New York Attorney General candidate Saritha Komatireddy has accepted the Public Campaign Finance Board’s invitation to participate in the 2026 general election debate hosted by Spectrum News, while again challenging Attorney General Letitia James to a series of debates across the state.
Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor, had previously called on James to debate her in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Albany and Binghamton.
She said voters outside New York City should also get an opportunity to hear directly from both candidates about their records and priorities.
“I have accepted the PCFB debate, and I hope Letitia James will do the same,” Komatireddy said. “But one debate is not enough for a race this important. New Yorkers from Buffalo to Long Island deserve the opportunity to hear directly from both candidates about our records, our priorities, and what we will do as Attorney General.”
Komatireddy said the debates should address issues including public safety, homelessness and mental illness, Medicaid and taxpayer fraud, corruption, and the proper role of the Attorney General’s office.
