SF Consulate To Print OCI Cards, Hopes To Cut Waiting Time

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has announced that it will now print Overseas Citizen of India cards. Previously they were issued in India.
The move is seen as being aimed at bolstering service efficiency and convenience, as it is expected to cut waiting times substantially – almost two weeks.
“This development reflects our commitment to enhancing efficiency and convenience for our community. Thank you for your patience and support as we strive to serve you better. Your satisfaction is our priority,” the social media handle of the consulate posted.
The San Francisco consulate serves the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Territory of Guam
An OCI card is given to registered Persons of Indian Origin, holding passports from a foreign country. —
