NEW JERSEY – The USA Global Cricket Academy has launched a new initiative to support local coaches pursuing advanced certifications, aiming to strengthen youth cricket development across the United States.
The New Jersey-based nonprofit noted that the effort responds to growing participation in cricket and increasing interest from schools and colleges in structured programs. The academy has spent more than two decades developing youth talent through age-group pathways and international tours.
Ashok P. Patel, founder and president of the academy, and Cricket Hall of Famer, said the initiative builds a network of qualified coaches essential for the sport’s long-term sustainability.
“Recent growth in cricket has increased the need for qualified local coaches who can deliver sustainable youth programs,” Patel said. “The academy has nurtured many players over the years, and it is encouraging to see alumni return to support our efforts.”
Under this initiative, coaches will receive financial and resource support to pursue Level 3 and Level 4 certifications through the ACF Cricket Coaching Program. Managed by Jatin Patel, Director of the ACF Cricket Coaching Program, a multi-sport coach, and Cricket Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement recipient, the 12-year-old program covers sports analytics, video analysis, mindfulness training and AI-driven coaching concepts.
The curriculum is approved by the American Cricket Education Council and endorsed by the Cricket Hall of Fame. To date, over 60 academies nationwide have utilized ACF coaching initiatives.
“With cricket returning to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, investing in coach education is essential for the sport’s future growth,” Jatin Patel said.
