WASHINGTON, DC – Donald Trump supporter and former presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy on February 25 at CPAC, according to reports, said it was time “to have the largest mass deportation in American history.”

“We are in the middle of a war in this country. If we’ve had the largest influx of migrants into our country in American history, then yes, it is time to have the largest mass deportation in American history as well,” Ramaswamy said according to media reports.

Ramaswamy has often toed the line of Donald Trump who has said he will end birthright citizenship. Previously, during a debate too when asked how he planned to expel undocumented immigrants and their American-born children, he said he would end “birthright citizenship for the kids of illegal immigrants in this country.”

The Indian American also emerged as a leading favorite among CPAC attendees, in a straw poll, to be named as Trump’s running mate.

I vote for Democrats because on the whole I like their policies better than those offered by the Republicans but on the issue of addressing illegals, I also think we need to be a lot tougher on them than we are. Therefore, I do support the idea of the mass deportations of the illegals. Yes, we are a nation of immigrants but we are also a nation of laws, therefore, we should have a zero tolerance policy for the illegals. However, before we mass deport all the illegals, we have to make sure we have enough legal immigrants to fill the jobs that are currently being filled by the illegals. That means our immigration system has to be thoroughly overhauled.

I also support the idea of ending birthright citizenship for the kids of illegal immigrants. Adopting and enforcing this policy will go a long way towards addressing the issue of illegal immigration to a great extent because a lot folks will have no incentive to emigrate to the US if their US born children will not automatically become US citizen. The “anchor baby” loophole in our Constitution is a loophole through which which we can drive a truck, literally, as well as figuratively.

“Univision host Ilia Calderón had asked the Republican presidential candidate “what legal premise” he would use to expel undocumented immigrants and their American-born children from the country.

To this, Ramaswamy responded his opponents onstage “are on the right side of this issue” by supporting the militarization of the southern border, defunding “sanctuary cities,” and an end to foreign aid to Mexico and Central America, but the candidate said he would go a “step further” by ending “birthright citizenship for the kids of illegal immigrants in this country.”

On the other hand, Trump had also pledged to “immediately stop the invasion of our southern border” and end illegal immigration. He said he would immediately direct US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to undertake the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.

He would target people who are legally living in the United States but harbor “jihadist sympathies” and revoke the student visas of those who espouse anti-American and antisemitic views, Trump said.

Trump said he would move thousands of troops currently stationed overseas and shift federal agents, including those at the Drug Enforcement Administration and FBI, to immigration enforcement. He also wants to build more of the border wall.”
