NORWALK, CA – Heartfulness, a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and harmony, will be hosting a Yoga4Unity event on June 11 here. The event is free and open to the public.

The Yoga4Unity event will feature a yoga class, breathing exercises, keynote presentations, guided meditation, and a children’s program. The goal of the event is to bring people together from all walks of life to promote peace and harmony.

“We believe that yoga is a powerful tool for bringing people together,” said Sreejith Periyadath, Heartfulness Meditation Volunteer and Certified Trainer, in a press release. “Yoga can help us to connect with our inner selves and with each other. When we are connected, we are more likely to be compassionate and understanding of others. This is essential for building a peaceful and harmonious world.”

The Yoga4Unity event will be held at the Joy of Sharing Community Center from 9 am to 11:30 am on June 11. The event will feature a keynote presentation from TED speaker Rushi Lamba on “healing through ancient dances.” Mansukh Kaneria, a certified yoga instructor, will lead a chair yoga session that is accessible to people of all abilities. John Childers, a yoga therapist, and author will give a presentation on the benefits of yoga for specific health conditions and will teach practical breathing practices. The event will culminate with a guided relaxation and meditation session taught by a certified Heartfulness Meditation trainer.

The event is free, open to the public, and will include a light lunch and snacks.
