38th Edition of FIA’s ‘Dance Pe Chance’ Dazzles After 2 Year Hiatus

TRENTON, NJ – Over 300 children from the various community dance schools in the tri-state area competed to showcase their talent discipline technique and costumes on May 7 at the Patriots War Memorial Theatre, here.
Children ranging in age from 6 to 16 as well as adult groups competed in a spirit of amity lighting up the stage with color and music. Performances were also diverse representing culture tradition and Bollywood. A large audience of of over 1100 community members enjoyed the presentations.
The judging panel this year comprised renowned Kathak Guru Archana Joglekar, Bollywood choreographer and director Kush Banker, popular actress of South Indian films Manya, and star emcee, Bollywood actress Mannara Chopra. The half-time show showcased a well received dance medley performance by Chopra choreographed with the help of Sandesh Shetty and Deepa Pais.
The Deputy Consul General of India, NY, Dr. Varun Jeph who was in attendance expressed his joy in witnessing the participation from diverse community groups thanked FIA for engaging the children with confidence and discipline building activities combined with their culture.
FIA President. Kenny Desai, Chairman Ankur Vaidya, FIA Vice President and ‘Dance Pe Chance’ Chair Saurin Parikh were among those who spoke and thanked the community for its avid participation.
‘Dance pe chance’ is over four decades old and over the years has seen the participation of nearly 19,000 children.
Over $ 20,000 were given in cash prizes, the first prize being $5,000 and won in a tie by Aum Dance Creations and Atma Dance Studios.
