Anshula Honors Late Mom Mona; Arjun Feels Her Absence
MUMBAI– The Kapoor family recently came together for a heartwarming celebration as Anshula Kapoor got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Rohan Thakkar. The intimate “Gor Dhana” ceremony was marked not just by love and laughter, but also by the deeply emotional presence of Anshula’s late mother, Mona Kapoor, whose blessings were felt in every detail.
Anshula paid a heartfelt tribute to her mother by weaving the words “Rab Rakha” — a phrase Mona often used to bless her children — into her bridal choli. Sharing the touching gesture on social media, Anshula wrote, “She always said ‘Rab Rakha,’ so I’ve carried it with me in this new chapter, stitched gently on my back, tucked safely in my heart, a reminder that she’s still here, still watching, still my forever protector, my Ma.” She thanked designer Arpita Mehta “for making sure these weren’t just words on fabric but feelings woven into every thread—a promise, a prayer, a piece of her with me.”
To honor her mother’s memory further, Anshula placed a framed photograph of Mona Kapoor with her children on a chair draped with one of Mona’s sarees, surrounded by flowers — symbolically keeping her presence close during the ceremony.
Actor Arjun Kapoor, Anshula’s brother, also shared an emotional note on social media, reflecting on the bittersweet occasion. “I guess it’s time I start accepting that you’ll be leaving me and going your own way soon… it’s gonna break me a little, but I also know you’re going to be with someone who can make you smile,” he wrote. “I miss Mom even more now, but I know she’s watching over you, helping you find Rohan, and guiding you with her divine touch.”
Welcoming Rohan into the family, Arjun added, “From being my partner in crime to finding your forever partner, my Ansh is all grown up. All my love and warmest wishes to you both as you begin this new chapter. Welcome to the family, Rohan—you’re in for a ride!”
The emotional celebration not only marked a new beginning for Anshula but also reflected the enduring bond the Kapoor siblings share with their late mother. Mona Kapoor, the first wife of filmmaker Boney Kapoor, passed away in 2012 at the age of 48 after a prolonged illness. (IANS)
