NEW DELHI (ANI)- Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, along with the cast and crew, unveiled the trailer of their upcoming film Kesari: Chapter 2 here on April 3.

At the launch, Akshay addressed a scene in the teaser where he says “F*** You” on screen. When asked about it, he defended the choice, stating that being called a “slave” by the British was a far greater insult.

“Haan, maine yeh word use kiya. Lekin jo word usne use kiya tha—‘You are still a slave!’—was that not a bigger insult? I think there can be no greater abuse than that. I would have been happier if you questioned the use of ‘slave’ rather than my saying ‘F*** You,’” Akshay remarked.

He further added that even shooting the British for calling Indians slaves would have been an insufficient response at the time.

The star-studded trailer launch was attended by co-stars Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, along with producer Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Bindra, and director Karan Singh Tyagi.

Also present were the family members of late C Sankaran Nair, the courageous lawyer who legally challenged the British colonial regime after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The film delves into the aftermath of the tragic events of April 13, 1919, showcasing a courtroom battle between Akshay Kumar, portraying Nair, and R Madhavan as Neville McKinley, a lawyer defending the British Crown.

Kesari: Chapter 2  will release in theatres on April 18.
