PALO ALTO, CA — TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will present the world premiere of ‘The Employee Dharma Handbook,’ a new play by playwright Geetha Reddy, from July 8 through August 2 at the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto.
Set at a Silicon Valley aerospace company, the play follows HR executive Val as she investigates a potential workplace issue among the firm’s lead engineers. What begins as a suspected case of sexism uncovers deeper tensions among the company’s Indian immigrant employees, threatening to disrupt an upcoming rocket launch.
Directed by Snehal Desai, the production explores themes of identity, culture and workplace dynamics. The play was developed through TheatreWorks Silicon Valley’s New Works Festival and later received a Kurjan/Butler commission.
The cast includes Megan Suri of Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever,’ Kapil Talwalkar of NBC’s ‘Night Court’ and ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,’ Kunal Dudheker of Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,’ Kathryn Smith-McGlynn, and Ranjita Chakravarty.
The production runs July 8 through August 2, with opening night scheduled for July 11. Tickets range from $54 to $104. For more information, visit TheatreWorks.org.
