GOPIO-LA Holds Blood Donation Camp

BUENA PARK, CA – The Los Angeles Chapter of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO-LA) successfully conducted a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Red Cross at the Buena Park Gurudwara on February 11.
The overwhelming response from the community resulted in a situation where Red Cross personnel found it challenging to manage the influx of donors. Unfortunately, due to the sheer volume, approximately 30-40 individuals had to be turned away. Originally scheduled to operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Red Cross extended its hours until 4:00 PM to accommodate the high number of registered donors.
Taking the initiative to organize this impactful event, Rajinder Dhunna, a trustee, and Baljinder Tahim, Vice President of GOPIO-LA, played instrumental roles in ensuring the camp’s success, a press release said.
