ORANGE, CA – The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin, Los Angeles Chapter (GOPIO-LA), orchestrated an unforgettable evening of laughter and humor with a Hasya Kavi Sammelan on July 22.
The event, held at Santiago Charter Middle School Hall, featured three renowned Hasya Kavis, each bringing their unique flair to the stage. Dr. Sarita Sharma, a celebrated lyricist, Sudip Bhola, a masterful satirist, and Gaurav Sharma, an acclaimed humorist, had the audience in splits with their performances.
Their years of experience and expertise in the field of poetry were on full display as they weaved humorous one-liners and witty poems, keeping the audience engaged for the entire two-and-a-half-hour event.
The Santiago Charter Middle School Hall was packed to capacity, accommodating over 200 eager listeners. From start to finish, the Kavis had the audience in the palm of their hands, garnering applause, laughter, and enthusiastic cheers of “Wah Wah.”
The event was hosted by Dr. Asmath Noor and Rachna Srivastava, who expertly managed the stage.
The event not only provided a platform for talented poets to showcase their craft but also served as a reminder of the enriching cultural experiences that GOPIO-LA continually offers to the Indian diaspora and the wider community, organizers said.
