IEEE Conference Deliberates on UN Tech and Development Goals

SANTA CLARA, CA – The Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC) is a flagship cross-disciplinary international conference focusing on advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The annual conference held this year from September 8-12 was attended by participants interested in humanitarian projects and witnessed over 80 paper presentations covering over seven United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Panel discussions ranged over salient subjects including humanitarian engineering programs in academia and federal government, IT for sustainability, and emergency PPE delivery.

The conference organized by IEEE was held at Santa Clara University, CA, here.  Mobile Outreach using Volunteer Engagement (MOVE) truck was on display at the conference. It is an emergency response initiative that aims to help with electronic communications and devices in times of natural disasters, a press release said.  

Over 200 participants from around the world attended the conference which was conducted in hybrid mode.
