NY Restaurant Sona, Of The Priyanka Chopra Fame, To Shut Down
NEW YORK, NY (ANI) – Actor Priyanka Chopra ‘s restaurant Sona in New York is going to close its doors.
The restaurant, touted for infusing a modern touch into Indian cuisine, will serve its final brunch service on June 30.
The announcement read, “After more than three remarkable years, Sona will be closing. We have immense gratitude for everyone who walked through our doors. It’s been our greatest honor to serve you”.
The news comes nearly a year after the ‘Barfi’ actress ended the partnership with the establishment.
In August last year, People Magazine confirmed that Priyanka Chopra is no longer associated with the restaurant that opened in 2021. The news was disclosed to the magazine by Priyanka’s spokesperson.
There were reports in the media that the actor quit because of a rift with co-founder Maneesh Goyal.
Page Six said it all started with the Diwali celebrations when Priyanka Chopra ‘s close friends, Goyal and Anjula Acharia, hosted a Diwali party at the Pierre Hotel in 2022. But in 2023, their friends, including Priyanka, had to pick between Goyal and Acharia as the former decided to host a party at Mandarin Oriental, while the latter chose to go ahead with Pierre.

The NRI Chefs are into Fusion cuisine also known as Con’fusion Cuisine with fancy names and inflated prices. The there is no authenticity nor taste. These restaurants cant survive by the celebrity name alone, eventually go out of business. Most of the fake business is generated by free loading PR people and food critics.
