LAS VEGAS, NV – Purbasha Banerjee has been appointed President-Elect of Friends of India, Las Vegas, for the 2027-2028 term. She will work alongside the current leadership over the next two years to support community initiatives and strengthen programs.

Banerjee has been part of the Indian community in Las Vegas for 26 years. A Bharatanatyam dancer and General Education teacher with 22 years of experience, she aims to use her background in arts and education to enhance community engagement and improve communication within the organization.

As President-Elect, her focus, she said, will be on fostering inclusivity and expanding local initiatives. She hopes to encourage greater participation in Friends of India’s cultural and educational programs while preserving the community’s heritage.
