KOLKATA (ANI)- Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag has etched his name in IPL history as the first-ever player to hit six successive sixes off consecutive deliveries, surpassing cricketing legends like Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard.

Parag achieved this remarkable feat during an IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Chasing a target of 207 runs, RR was struggling at 8/2, and later reduced to 71/5. However, Parag’s explosive 95 off 45 balls, including six fours and eight sixes, lifted the team’s spirits. His strike rate was an impressive 211.11.

In the 13th over, facing Moeen Ali, Parag hit five consecutive sixes, showing his full range of power across all parts of the ground. In the next over, with Shimron Hetmyer taking a single, Parag reverse-hit a sixth successive six off Varun Chakravarthy, further cementing his place in IPL history.

This remarkable achievement has placed Parag ahead of players like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Rahul Tewatia, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rinku Singh, who had previously hit five successive sixes.

Parag is currently RR’s second-highest run-scorer of the season, with 377 runs in 12 matches at an average of 37.70 and a strike rate of 170.58.

In the match, KKR set a challenging target of 207/4, with Andre Russell’s 57* from 25 balls and Rinku Singh’s explosive cameo. Despite Parag’s heroics, RR fell short by just one run, finishing at 205/8. Varun Chakravarthy (2/32), Harshit Rana (2/41), and Moeen Ali (2/43) were KKR’s top bowlers.
