San Diego’s Indian Fine Arts Academy To Host 17th Annual Fest March 19-24

LA JOLLA, CA –  The Indian Fine Arts Academy of San Diego (IFAASD) is holding its 17th annual music and dance festival from March 19-24 and features a stellar cast of renowned vocal and instrumental artists of both the Hindustani and the Carnatic genres of Indian music.

Among the headliners at the Jewish Community Center will be Professor VV Subramanyam, Padma Bhushan Sudha Raghunathan, Sangita Kalanidhi Thiruvaarur Bakthavatsalam, Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan, Vidwans Mannargudi Easwaran, Vijay Siva, Shriramkumar, and TM Krishna.

IFAASD’s classical dance segments too will be diverse featuring talent from India and the US and include Bharatanatyam, Mohiniattam, Kathak, and Odissi.

The festival will also celebrate the 104th birthday of Bharat Rathna Ravi Shankar, 100th birth centenaries of Padma Vibhushan Kumar Gandharva and Padma Shri K.V. Narayanaswamy and will honor their prolific contributions including through scholarly sessions.

The festival will feature two music and dance concerts performed by over 100 children from all over Southern California.

An additional enticement, organizers said was that throughout the festival, patrons will have the opportunity to taste a wide range of Indian vegetarian cuisine from the South to the North.
