MUMBAI (ANI) – Several prominent figures from the Indian film industry expressed their deep gratitude after being conferred with the Padma awards on January 25.

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, a Padma Bhushan recipient, who is known for his work in cinema and motorsports, also remembered his late father and thanked his mother for her unwavering support. He expressed special thanks to the motor racing and shooting communities for their encouragement and praised his wife and children for their constant support.

Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, also a Padma Bhushan recipient, referred to the honor as “a feather in his cap” and thanked the central government for the recognition. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Telugu-speaking communities worldwide, as well as to his fans and parents.

Shekhar Kapur, the acclaimed filmmaker honored with the Padma Bhushan, expressed his gratitude on social media, writing, “I am humbled that the Government of India has considered me deserving of this award. Hopefully, it will inspire me to serve both the film industry and our beautiful nation even more.” His sister, actress Sohaila Kapur, celebrated the achievement, calling her brother a pioneer who took Indian filmmaking to Hollywood and Europe. She also expressed pride in their parents, who were refugees during Partition.

Veteran actor Anant Nag from Karnataka who has also acted in critically acclaimed Bollywood independent cinema, who was also honored with the Padma Bhushan. Nag revealed that his name had been suggested by countless Kannadigas, which led to his recognition. Actor Yash, known for the KGF franchise, praised Nag as “a connoisseur of Indian cinema.”

KH Raghu, a renowned stunt director and martial arts expert from Karnataka, was honored with the Padma Shri. Raghu, who has worked in over 100 films and runs a martial arts school in Bengaluru, expressed his gratitude for the recognition of his talent and dedication to teaching martial arts.
