AP Dhillon Treats Fans To New Music Video
MUMBAI (ANI) – Punjabi musician AP Dhillon has released the highly anticipated music video for “After Midnight,” a track from his new EP, The Brownprint. Set in the scenic backdrop of a rural village in Haryana, the video, rich in drama and emotion, explores the complexities of heartbreak and longing.
Directed and edited by Dhillon himself, the cinematic visual follows the story of a modest shopkeeper, portrayed by Dhillon, as he grapples with the aftermath of a failed relationship. While he confronts the pain of deceit and heartbreak, his former love interest makes an unexpected return, hoping for a second chance. The video touches on universal themes of love, loss, and the human desire for closure.
Discussing the music video, Dhillon said, “Directing and editing this video was incredibly rewarding. I wanted to create something relatable that connects with people on a deep level. I hope ‘After Midnight’ resonates with audiences and makes them feel understood.”
The EP’s title track, “Brownprint,” featuring longtime collaborator Shinda Kahlon, is a gritty anthem celebrating authenticity, loyalty, and strength. Collaborating with Punjabi icon Jazzy B, the song serves as a powerful declaration of invincibility, paying homage to the resilience of the Punjabi community.
The EP features international collaborations, including “Losing I,” where Dhillon teams up with Atlanta rapper Gunna. The track, written by Dhillon’s father, Rashpal Singh, marks his songwriting debut, while Gunna’s cameo adds a dynamic touch. Other tracks like “Distance” and “After Midnight” delve into themes of abandonment, betrayal, and separation.
The EP also includes songs like “Sweet Flower,” “315,” “To Be Continued,” and “Bora Bora,” the latter marking Nigerian singer Ayra Starr’s first venture into the Indian subcontinent’s music scene.
