WASHINGTON, D.C.– Following a Fox News poll showing his approval rating behind several past presidents at the 100-day mark of his term, the former president publicly lashed out media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his news outlets.

In an April 24 post on Truth Social, he took aim at Murdoch, owner of Fox News, claiming the media magnate had repeatedly vowed to dismiss a pollster he views as biased against him and his MAGA movement. He asserted this particular pollster consistently delivers inaccurate findings.

His criticism extended to another Murdoch-owned publication, The Wall Street Journal, which he deemed to “suck” for its critical editorials concerning his tariffs on China.

Despite Fox News’ general Republican lean, its polling division has often been recognized for its commitment to impartiality, the Daily Beast noted. For nearly three decades, it has been spearheaded by Dana Blanton, who is known for her methodical approach and commitment to neutrality in her analysis.

The Fox News poll in question indicated a 44 percent overall approval rating for the former president at the 100-day mark of his current term trailing the 100-day approval numbers of former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush.

The survey further revealed that more respondents disapproved than approved of his handling of key policy areas, including foreign policy, immigration, and the economy. Specifically, his tariffs and approach to inflation garnered only 33 percent approval.

Border security however was a noted positive, receiving 55 percent approval in the Fox News survey.

Notably, since the beginning of the former president’s current term, Murdoch-owned media outlets have displayed a noticeable increase in critical coverage of his actions and policies.
