Rizwan Manji, Chandni Shah Join CBS Comedy Pilot Zarna
LOS ANGELES, CA (ANI)- Rizwan Manji, known for his role in the sitcom Schitt’s Creek, and Chandni Shah have joined the cast of CBS’s multi-camera comedy pilot Zarna. The pilot, led by Zarna Garg, who co-writes and co-executive produces alongside Darlene Hunt, focuses on Garg’s journey as a proud immigrant woman raising her American-born children with Indian values.
The story reflects Garg’s real-life experience as an immigrant from India who moved to the U.S. as a teenager. After earning a BA and a JD, she spent 16 years as a stay-at-home mom before her children encouraged her to pursue stand-up comedy, launching her career.
According to Deadline, Manji will portray Kishore, Zarna’s husband and a successful Wall Street investor. He gained fame as a series regular on NBC’s Outsourced, with notable credits including Perfect Harmony, The Magicians, and Mr. Robot. He was recently seen in Peacemaker and Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration.
Shah appeared in Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-winning Barbie.
