Thousands Of Tamils Gather To Meet CM Stalin In Chicago

CHICAGO, IL – Close to 5,000 Indian American Tamils from across the country, on September 7, thronged the Rosemont Convention Centre, here to attend an event organized by the Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Board to honor chief minister, MK Stalin.
“My work does not stop at the borders of Tamil Nadu. I work for the prosperity and well-being of every Tamil across the world, be it in Tamil Nadu or here in the United States. Together, we are building a future where Tamil identity is celebrated and strengthened, globally,” Stalin said in his speech drawing thundering applause from the crowd.
The event, organizers said, was a celebration of “Tamil identity, unity, and progress under CM Stalin’s leadership.”
Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, chairman of the Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Board, gave a welcome address, emphasizing the enduring connection between Tamil Nadu and the Tamil diaspora worldwide. He noted the contributions of the Tamil community in America to Tamil Nadu’s development and cultural preservation, saying, “Our shared heritage and collective strength will drive the future prosperity of Tamils everywhere.”
Several prominent members of the diaspora and officials from several different Tamil organizations across the US were present. Thanking all of them, Minister for Industries, T.R.B. Rajaa, said, “This gathering of over 5,500 Tamils from across the U.S. is a proud moment for all of us,” he said.
