NEW DELHI, (ANI)- Actors Vikrant Massey and Bhumi Pednekar participated in the eighth edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha program on February 16, where they interacted with students and shared tips on managing exam stress.
Vikrant, whose career saw a major breakthrough with the success of 12th Fail, offered three key suggestions to students preparing for board exams. He advised them to ensure proper rest, embrace self-improvement, and engage in recreational activities. “How will you fight a war if you are not fed well and rested well? So, take a rest. Secondly, give yourself the benefit of doubt—if you struggle with something, focus on improving. Lastly, go play, unplug, and do what you like. Don’t gain knowledge just for exams; gain knowledge to pass in life,” he said.
He also emphasized the “power of visualization” and encouraged students to practice journaling, calling it a form of meditation. “Take 10 minutes a day to write about your feelings and goals in a journal,” he suggested.
Additionally, Vikrant urged students to remain humble about their achievements. “Never feel arrogant about getting good marks. Keep your eyes low and your thinking high. Study to pass in life, not just exams. Be kind to yourself, and if you don’t meet your expectations, restart,” he said.
Addressing peer pressure, he encouraged students to openly communicate with their parents about their career aspirations. “Children struggle to grow when parental expectations feel like a burden. If your parents want you to become an engineer but you want to be a photographer, express yourself. Over time, they will understand because their ultimate wish is for your happiness,” he added.
Bhumi Pednekar highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy sleep routine. She recalled how taking breaks during exams helped her stay focused. “I used to take an hour-long break daily during exams—playing badminton and dancing helped give my brain a break. Now, when I’m shooting, I finish my lunch in 15 minutes and take a 30-minute nap, which helps me stay focused for eight hours at work,” she shared.
On handling stress, she advised students to “be a warrior, not a worrier” and noted that spirituality helps maintain focus and balance.
