Vinod Kambli Hospitalized, Said To Be Critical

MUMBAI – Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was admitted to a hospital in Thane after his health deteriorated. Although his condition remains critical but stable at the moment of publication.

Speculations about Kambli’s health began circulating after a video of him giving a thumbs-up to a fan on December 22 went viral. Another clip from a recent function honoring his late coach, Ramakant Achrekar, showed Vinod Kambli struggling to hold himself steady, further raising concerns among fans.

Speaking to YouTuber Vickey Lalwani, Kambli disclosed that he is battling a urine infection and recounted the challenges he faced. “I was suffering from a urine problem; it was just flowing uncontrollably. My head started spinning one month ago, and I collapsed. The doctor advised me to get admitted,” he said.

Vinod Kambli expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his wife and children. “My wife stood by me like a rock, taking me to three different hospitals and insisting, ‘You have to get fit.’ My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and helped me get back on my feet, and my 10-year-old daughter also supported me,” he shared.

Vinod Kambli also mentioned the visit of former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, which lifted his spirits. “Ajay Jadeja came to see me, and it felt nice,” he added.

As fans rally behind him, Kambli’s resilience and family’s dedication shine as a beacon of hope during his recovery journey.
