
Art Meets Cinema: India Unveils International Film Poster Challenge

NEW DELHI – The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in partnership with the National Film Development Corporation – National Film Archive of India and Image Nation Street Art, has announced the International Film Poster Making Challenge as part of the World Audio-Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES).
The competition, now expanding globally, aims to celebrate India’s cinematic heritage and encourage artistic creativity through film poster design. It invites artists and filmmakers worldwide to reimagine and create visually compelling posters inspired by iconic Indian films.
Participants can choose from ten classic and contemporary Indian films for their artwork: Neecha Nagar (1946), Pather Panchali (1955), Mother India (1957), Chemmeen (1965), Pakeezah (1972), Disco Dancer (1982), Salaam Bombay!(1988), Lagaan (2001), Devdas (2002), and The Lunchbox (2013).
