Houston City Hall Illuminates For Diwali 2025

HOUSTON, TX — The Consulate General of India and the City of Houston marked Diwali 2025 with a celebration at City Hall, bringing together elected officials, members of the Consular Corps, and the community for an evening of light and culture.

Consul General D.C. Manjunath and Houston Mayor John Whitmire led the celebrations. In his remarks, the Consul General thanked the Mayor and the city for embracing the festival of lights and for their continued support of cultural inclusivity. “Celebrating Diwali at City Hall is a reflection of the shared values that bind India and the United States — unity in diversity, peace, and hope,” he said.

The celebration drew participation from community partners, public officials, and members of Houston’s diverse diaspora.
