NEW DELHI, (IANS) – What a big surprise the 2024 Lok Sabha election results turned out, nullifying the Exit Poll results completely the ‘400-paar’ slogan of the saffron camp became a nightmare as the ruling party is continuing to struggle to reach 300 tallies.

Several BJP leaders like eight-time MP Maneka Gandhi and Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Ajai Mishra Teni, Arjun Munda, R K Singh, Nishit Pramanik, Bhagwant Kuba, Mahendranath Pandey and Debashree Chaudhary lost their seats.
Smriti Irani on June 4 thanked party workers and supporters for standing by her side “through loss and victory” as she accepted defeat against Congress’ Kishori Lal Sharma from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat from where she was seeking a second term.

In what was labeled as a “shock result” by many poll analysts. Irani who is known for making headlines with her statements against Rahul Gandhi was emotional. “Such is life… A decade of my life going from one village to another, building lives, nurturing hope and aspirations, working on infrastructure ― roads, naali, khadanja, bypass, medical college and more,” she posted.

Rahul Gandhi meanwhile, pointed out that Lal was a dedicated Congress person and had worked in Amethi for 40 years and the BJP labeling and demeaning him as “PA” was a show of arrogance.

Shashi Tharoor of Congress defeated BJP Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Thiruvananthapuram by a margin of over 16,077 votes. “This is the blessing for the 4th time and I will do my best to be worthy of that trust to serve them well. The world T20 is going on but super over was here,” Tharoor said.

  • In politics, there is no gratitude, just opportunists. Aftermath there is just regrets.
