NEW DELHI – The Missed Tree, a debut novel by 16-year-old Rujhaan Chaudhary, presents a story centered on imagination, personal growth, and spirituality within a young adult framework.
The novel follows Ramya, a girl who forms a deep bond with a tree she considers her grandfather. When the tree disappears, leaving behind a large pit, Ramya is drawn into a hidden world beneath the earth. Referred to as the “Fourth World,” this underground realm introduces her to spiritual concepts, ancient knowledge, and personal challenges.
Guided by the sun’s light and joined by a group of companions, Ramya sets out on a journey toward the Ascetic Abode, a destination associated with clarity and inner transformation.
The book combines elements of nature, mysticism, and allegory. It addresses themes such as human connection, perseverance, and curiosity, while also incorporating light moments of humor.
Chaudhary has previously published two poetry collections and another novel. She has received recognition at both national and international levels for her writing.
“My soul is the percipient, pen is the medium, and the stars are its readers,” says Chaudhary — a quote that reflects her personal approach to writing.
