Trump Responds In Gibberish To Reshma Saujani’s Query On Childcare
India-West News Desk
NEW YORK, NY – Donald Trump’s remark, “childcare is childcare,” which has been widely noted and mocked across both traditional and social media was a comment he made in response to a pointed question from Reshma Saujani, founder of Moms First and Girls Who Code, during a discussion at the Economic Club of New York.
Saujani had asked Trump what specific legislation he would support to make childcare more affordable, highlighting that rising childcare costs are a major burden on families and a barrier to women’s participation in the workforce.
Instead of addressing the issue directly, Trump veered off-topic, discussing tariffs on foreign countries and vaguely suggesting that the revenue from tariffs could somehow address childcare costs. However, he failed to provide any concrete plan.
Saujani expressed her frustration with Trump’s evasive answer, stating, “His response was incomprehensible at best; at worst, outrageously offensive to the millions of families drowning in costs.” She added that his comments reveal how “out of touch” he is with the struggles of everyday Americans.
“If you’re talking to parents and moms and families on the campaign trail, they’re talking about childcare and the cost of it,” she told CNN and other media outlets, emphasizing that Trump’s response showed a disconnect from the realities facing many families.
She added, in another post, “@realDonaldTrump if you don’t have a plan to solve child care, you’re not fit to be president.”
