Home Of Hope Celebrates 25 Years With Fundraiser Gala

MILPITAS, CA – Home of Hope (HOH), a Bay Area non-profit dedicated to supporting underprivileged and disabled children, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a fundraiser gala at the Indian Community Center on September 7. Over the past 25 years, HOH has expanded its support to 25 Indian NGO projects across India and served over 200,000 children.
Notable NGOs supported include Prajwala founded by Dr. Sunita Krishnan, a Padmashree recipient, to rescue and rehabilitate sex-trafficking victims and the Mijwan project founded by Kaifi Azmi, to financially empower marginalized women.
HOH funded programs have helped provide vocational training and employment opportunities for blind women through the National Association for the Blind partnership, helped fund a daycare center for underprivileged disabled children through Manovika, among other initiatives, a press release said.
Dr. Nilima Sabharwal, HOH founder and Rita Sharma, president shared inspiring success stories of impacted children.
The festive evening attended by 300 guests, raised $400,000. The event
included entertainment from the Ishami Dance Company, renowned singers Pooja Purandare and Vikas Singh and also a featured film, produced by Board Member Rajesh Relan. Emcees Scott Budman and Sunny Moza led the evening’s festivities with wit and charm.
